About Robert Yonke
Robert Yonke works out of his two home studios, one in Pittsburgh, PA and the other in Garrett County, Maryland. His watercolors reflect his love of music, the mountains, rivers and the outdoors. Bob’s award winning paintings have been shown in many galleries throughout the region. He is a member of the Garrett County Arts Council, Participating Artists of the Turkeyfoot Highlands, the Allegany Arts Council and The Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.
As the artist puts it, “My work reflects personal interests. For example, I find that working on a painting of a bluegrass artist allows me to relive the pleasure I’ve had picking with my friends.” Some of his favorite projects include providing original artwork for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2008 World of Bluegrass and Delfest 2010 promotional material. In addition to working at his art, Bob enjoys teaching watercolor seminars at his studio and around the region.
Bob has been published in the Garrett County Art Council’s Ginseng, Mid-Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide, Turkey Call Magazine and other publications. His original paintings, prints and cards can be found in shops and galleries nationwide and online at www.appalachianstudio.com. Original artwork can be commissioned by contacting the artist directly at rhyonke@gmail.com.
